Prof. Runsheng Chen, Principal Investigator at Institute of Biophysics, CAS, is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and an academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences. He is a member of Human Genome Organization (HUGO), and has published more than 130 papers in SCI. He is one of the pioneer scholars developing the researches on theoretical biology, bioinformatics and noncoding RNA in China. For more than 20 years, he has led his group to perform a series of systemic researches in the field of bioinformatics, including the whole genome assembly and annotation for T. tengcongensis B4 (the first bacterium genome completely sequenced in China), the 1% Human Genome Project, and the Draft Sequence of the Rice Genome. Since 2001, he has rapidly expanded his interest to the investigation of noncoding RNAs, two widely used noncoding RNA databases (NON-CODE) have been established and updated periodically. He was granted the Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress of Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation in 2008, Tan Jiazhen life sciences and Achievement Award in 2012, and second-class prize of national science and Technology Progress Award in 2013.
Dr. Liang-Hu Qu is professor of school of life sciences, Sun Yat-Sen University. He was honored “the Cheung Kong Scholar” by the Ministry of Education of China in 1999 and currently serves as the director of State Key Laboratory of Biocontrol. As a expert of RNomics, he is interested in decoding Ribonet for cell function and fate determination and puting forward RNA index for tumor cell Atlas. He has published more than 160 articles in RNA research field and was honored the second prize of the National Natural science Award in 2007.
Dr. Xiaofeng Cao is Distinguished Professor of the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology (IGDB), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). She was elected as member of CAS in 2015, member of the Developing World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) in 2016, and academician of the International Eurasian Academy (IEAS) in 2018. Dr. Cao was educated in Peking University and China Agricultural University. Currently she is the co-director of the Centre of Excellence for Plant and Microbial Science, jointly established by CAS and the John Innes Centre (UK). Dr. Cao is an expert in plant epigenetics. She and her colleagues identified a dozen of key epigenetic regulators and uncovered how dynamic histone methylation, arginine methylation and small RNAs governing genome stability and plant development. She published over 100 research papers and review articles in high profile journals and her H index is 51. She has served as editorial board member in many international journals, including The Plant Cell, Curr Opin Plant Biol, National Science Review, and Associate Editor-in-Chief of Science China Life Sciences and Journal of Genetics and Genomics.
