Metal Science and Heat Treatment Aims and scope

The structure of carbon steels after their saturation with nitrogen and carbon under conditions of anode heating is studied using metallographic and x-ray analyses and the method of nuclear backscattering of protons. The possibility of raising the corrosion resistance of the carbon steels and of alloy steel 12Kh18N10T under corrosion close to atmospheric one is demonstrated.
