A stereo PIV system for measuring the velocity vector in complex gas flows

A stereo PIV system for investigating complex highly turbulent flows, typical for gas flows in aircraft engines and gas turbines, is developed, and the values obtained for the velocity are compared with the results measured using a laser Doppler anemometer. The features of the use of the PIV system for measurements in three-dimensional highly turbulent flows with high velocity gradients are investigated.
