Abstract
A series of Ca4La6(SiO4)4(PO4)2O2: Ce3+, Tb3+ phosphors have been investigated systematically, including the luminescence properties, energy transfer processes, and thermal stabilities. The phosphor exhibited a blue Ce3+ emission band and green Tb3+ emission peaks upon Ce3+ excitation in the UV region. Tunable emission color from blue to green could be obtained by adjusting the Tb3+ content. For the Ca4La6(SiO4)4(PO4)2O2: 0.06Ce3+, 1.20Tb3+ phosphor, the internal quantum yield reached 72% due to the efficient energy transfer and it presented good color stability when heated. The results suggest that the present phosphors show attractive performances for UV-pumped white-light-emitting diodes applications.
