Abstract
Magnetite particles of different diameters were synthesized by chemical co-precipitation technique and the same are dispersed in dodecane to prepare a magnetic fluid. The results of X-ray diffraction, magnetization measurements, ac susceptibility and viscosity measurements are analyzed and discussed in the text.
