A novel eremophilane sesquiterpenoid from Ligularia intermedia roots and rhizomes

A novel eremophilane-type sesquiterpenoid, named isoligularonic acid (1), was isolated from the roots and rhizomes of Ligularia intermedia Nakai. Its structure was elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis including 1D, 2D NMR, and HR-MS spectra.
