Abstract
Intermetallic compound SinCu2 crystalizes in the orthorhombic structure and orders antiferromagnetically (AF) and exhibits at least three different AF phases below T N =23 K. To determine the magnetic phase transitions, a sinnle crystal of SmCu2 was grown. The details of crystallographic data and bulk thermodynamic properties properties in the ordered state are presented here. The high-field measurement revealed a metamagnetic transition to field-induced ferromagnetic phase at 28 T along the b-axis. Contrary to analogous RCu2 compounds, the propagation vector of magnetic structure q=(2/3 1 0) was observed.
