Supplementary Video 1 Modified barium swallow performed 6-months prior to the respiratory arrest. A significant amount of barium is aspirated into the airway. Airway reflexes and orofacial sensation, mediated by the glossopharyngeal and trigeminal nerves respectively, are lacking in FD, causing aspiration and chronic lung disease. (MOV 14875 kb)
