Zusammenfassung
Hintergrund
Abstract
Background
Entero- or urostomas are often created as part of cancer treatment or for the treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases of the intestinal or urinary tract.
Results
The often permanent change in body image caused by a stoma is a great challenge for those affected and requires professional psychological support to ensure coping with the disease. Professional nursing consultations are necessary to optimize long-term, independent home stoma care and thus also the acceptance for the patient.
Conclusion
Specialized (follow-up) rehabilitation also guarantees professional medical treatment and consultation after an acute medical stay, especially in the case of complex problems or complications.
