Summary.

 The synthesis of two oxidized metabolites of bis-(2-ethylhexyl)-phthalate is described. The target structures were obtained by esterification of the appropriate alcohol carrying a protected hydroxy group with phthalic anhydride, followed by deprotection and further oxidation.
