Abstract

Six quinoxaline reverse nucleosides were prepared by reaction of quinoxalin-2-one derivatives with methyl 2,3-O-isopropylidene-5-O-p-toluenesulfonyl-β-d-ribofuranoside in the presence of sodium hydride. For deprotection of quinoxaline nucleosides, heating in 60 % acetic acid was applied. The novel compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, mass spectra, and NMR data.
