Bilateral posterior fracture-dislocation of the shoulder managed by allograft reconstruction of the segmental defect: report of two cases

Abstract

Bilateral posterior fracture-dislocation of the shoulder represents less than 5% of all posterior dislocations. We present two cases after convulsive seizures. One is of a 38-year-old male showing that in more chronic situations the modified McLaughlin procedure can be a good treatment option. The other is of a 41-year-old male in whom the larger defect of the articular surface of the humeral head was managed by an allograft reconstruction.
