Abstract

Controlled release of cephanone from hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) micelles and CTAB/n-C5H11OH/H2O microemulsions was studied. The results showed that the release rate of cephanone was reduced in CTAB micelles and CTAB/n-C5H11OH/H2O microemulsions, because of the solubilization of cephanone in micelles and microemulsions. The release of cephanone from CTAB micelles and CTAB/n-C5H11OH/H2O microemulsions was characterized by Fickian diffusion and non-Fickian diffusion.
