Abstract

In this work, new aliphatic polyetheresteramide copolymers based on ε-caprolactone, 11-aminoundecanoic acid, and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) were synthesized by the melt polycondensation method. The copolymers obtained were characterized by 1H NMR, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis/differential thermogravimetry, and wide-angle X-ray diffraction. Water absorption and hydrolytic degradation behavior was also studied. With the increase in PEG content, water absorption and the hydrolytic degradation rate increased accordingly.
