Abstract

Exfoliated nanocomposite based on Mg, Al layered double hydroxide (Mg,Al-LDH) and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) has been prepared by exfoliation/adsorption process with acetone as co-solvent. The product was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermal analysis and High Resolution Transmission Electronic Microscope (HREM). The results suggest that the brucite-like sheets of LDH disperse individually in the polymer matrix, and the thermal stability of the nanocomposite increases highly.
