Akute makuläre Neuroretinopathie bei einer 13-jährigen Patientin mit fokaler choroidaler Exkavation und Pachychoroid

Zusammenfassung

Die akute makuläre Neuroretinopathie (AMN) ist eine seltene Erkrankung, die plötzliche parazentrale Skotome verursacht. Der aktuelle Fall beschreibt ein 13-jähriges Mädchen mit AMN, an welche eine fokale choroidale Exkavation (FCE) bei Pachychoroid angrenzte. Die Patientin wurde über 20 Monate mit multimodaler Bildgebung nachuntersucht. Das AMN-Areal zeigte im Verlauf eine inkomplette Atrophie der äußeren Körnerschicht, die FCE veränderte sich bei abnehmender Aderhautdicke von einem Non-conforming- in einen Conforming-Typ. Diese Kasuistik bietet eine interessante Assoziation von AMN, FCE und Pachychoroid.

Abstract

Acute macular neuroretinopathy (AMN) is a rare disease that causes sudden onset of paracentral scotomas. The current case report describes a 13-year-old girl with AMN adjacent to a focal choroidal excavation (FCE) with pachychoroidal features. The patient was followed for 20 months and examined with multimodal imaging. During follow-up the AMN area showed an incomplete atrophy of the outer nuclear layer, while the FCE changed along with decreasing choroidal thickness from a non-conforming into a conforming type. This case provides an interesting association of AMN, FCE and pachychoroid disease.
