Spaltbildungen des Atlas

Zusammenfassung

Formvarianten des Atlas sind nicht selten. Während dorsale Spaltbildungen bei der radiologischen Diagnostik kaum zu übersehen sind, ist die Diagnostik von ventralen Atlasringdefekten ungleich schwieriger. Abgesehen von ausgeprägten Befunden, die ggf. die Stabilität der oberen Bewegungssegmente beeinflussen, sind angeborene Atlasringdefekte auch aufgrund des Hinweises für das Vorliegen von kombinierten Dysplasien des Bewegungsapparats und/oder innerer Organe von Bedeutung. Im vorliegenden Beitrag werden die morphologischen Besonderheiten dargestellt und die klinischen Konsequenzen diskutiert.

Abstract

There are many morphological variations of the first vertebra. While dorsal fissure formation in radiologic diagnostics is quite easy to identify the diagnosis of ventral fissure formation is much more difficult. Apart from distinct results with an influence on the stability of the upper segments of the neck there is a relevance of the fissure formation in the evidence of other combined dysplasias of the musculoskeletal system and/or the visceral system. The morphological characteristics will be demonstrated and the clinical consequences be discussed.
