Bildgebende Diagnostik der Brustwirbelsäule

Zusammenfassung

Neben der klinischen Untersuchung sind zur Diagnosefindung im Bereich der Brustwirbelsäule verschiedene bildgebende Verfahren gefragt. Hierbei können verschiedene strukturpathologische Prozesse objektiviert werden. In erster Linie sind Fragen nach Degeneration, Entzündung, Traumafolge oder Tumor zu beantworten. Die Abgrenzung von noch normalem Befund bzw. altersentsprechender Darstellung und bereits klinisch relevantem pathologischen Prozess ist nicht in jedem Falle einfach. Für die klinische Routine jedoch ist auch unter funktionsmedizinischem Aspekt der sichere Umgang mit den einzelnen Verfahren notwendig, um ein Höchstmaß an Informationen zu gewinnen. Auf die Notwendigkeit einer möglichst exakten klinischen Fragestellung bei der Anforderung einer bildgebenden Untersuchung sei an dieser Stelle hingewiesen.

Abstract

In addition to the clinical examination, various imaging techniques are employed to reach a diagnosis regarding the region of the thoracic spine. These procedures aid in objectifying different processes exhibiting structural pathology. The primary questions to be answered concern degeneration, inflammation, aftereffects of trauma, or tumors. It is not easy in every case to distinguish between what can still be considered a normal finding or age-appropriate image and a pathological process that is already clinically relevant. For routine clinical practice, however, competence in dealing with individual techniques is also necessary from the aspect of functional medicine to obtain the maximum level of information. Attention is called to the fact that it is essential to formulate the clinical indication as precisely as possible when requesting an imaging examination.
