Zusammenfassung

Der vorliegende Artikel gibt eine vertiefte Übersicht über die Problemstellungen, die sich bei Studien zur Wirksamkeit — oder Unwirksamkeit — der Manuellen Therapie im Sinne einer evidenzbasierten Medizin ergeben.

Die aktuelle Evidenzlage wird für ausgewählte Themen anhand von Metaanalysen dargestellt. Darüber hinaus werden Ansätze für weitere Forschungsarbeiten aufgezeigt.

Abstract

This article provides an in-depth overview of the problematics involved in studies on the effectiveness — or ineffectiveness — of manual therapy in terms of evidence-based medicine.

The current status is illustrated by meta-analyses for selected topics. In addition, approaches for further research are presented.
