Abstract

A boundary layer analysis is presented for the mixed convection from a vertical plate embedded in a porous medium. The effects of thermal dispersion and stratification on the flow and temperature fields are investigated. The conservation equations that govern the problem are reduced to a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The resulting equations were solved on the basis of the local similarity approach.
