Botulinophilie Die neue Lifestyle-Venenophilie

Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund und Fragestellung. Die Therapie der Hyperhidrose mit Botulinumtoxin ist sehr wirksam und wird immer häufiger in Anspruch genommen. Gleichzeitig kommt es zur vermehrten Vorstellung von Patienten mit einer körperdysmorphen Störung die auf eine Botulinumtoxintherapie drängen. Diese Botulinophilie ist eine neue Lifestyle-Venenophilie. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird die neue Diagnose anhand unserer Patienten überprüft.

Patienten/Methodik. Im 1. Quartal 2000 wurden 13 Patienten wegen einer Hyperhidrose biopsychosozial untersucht.

Ergebnisse. Bei 23,1% der Patienten liegt eine eindeutige Botulinophilie mit körperdysmorpher Störung und normwertiger Schweißbildung im Minor-Test vor.

Schlussfolgerungen. Bei der Botulinophilie ist die Therapie mit Botulinumtoxin kontraindiziert, und die Therapie der psychosozialen Störungen steht im Vordergrund.

Abstract

Background and objective. Botulinum toxin is effective in the treatment of hyperhidrosis and the demand for therapy is increasing. Simultaneously we have observed an increase in patients with body dysmorphic disorders who also want botulinum toxin therapy. This botulinophilie is a new variant of venenophilie. We investigated the prevalence of this new diagnosis in our patient population.

Patients/Methods. In the first quarter of 2000 we studied the biopsychosocial features of 13 patients with hyperhidrosis.

Results. In 23.1% of our cases we were able to confirm a botulinophilie with body dysmorphic disorder and a normal Minor sweat test.

Conclusions. Botulinophilie is not an indication for botulinum toxin therapy but for psychotherapy.
