Abstract
The interaction of water with reversed micelles of sodium dioctyl sulfosucchinate (AOT) in CCl4 has been investigated as a function of the water amount added by using the −OH vibrational mode in the near-infrared. Our data support a simplified picture of the water pool by means of two types of water: interfacial and bulklike. The fraction of the water in the two "water regions" within the water pool was evaluated as a function of the molar ratio W=[H2O]/[AOT].
