Abstract

This mini-review shows how complementary techniques (light, neutron and x-ray scattering, analytical centrifugation, density measurements) have been used in the study of the solvation of halophilic proteins, proteins which are only stable at high salt. The halophilic proteins studied so far are all solvated by large amounts of salt, compared to non-halophilic proteins.
