Abstract
This study demonstrated that hooded rats could learn the abstract relation of oddity while control Ss could not when they were not supplied the olfactory stimuli. Olfactory stimuli provide a good fit to the rat’s abilities, allowing 69% correct responses on the first trial of a problem and 93% correct on the second trial after 29 problems.
