Following the publication of the Opinion entitled “Is thyroxine during lithium therapy necessary?” by J.H. Lazarus (J. Endocrinol. Invest. 1998, 21: 784–786), the following paper by L. Bartalena, F. Bogazzi, and E. Martino is another opinion on the same topic. We thank both the Authors for their kind contributions and leave to the reader the possibility to evaluate these two different points of view about the necessity of thyroxine during lithium therapy.
