Loss of taste and smell during treatment with topiramate

Abstract

Topiramate has already been suggested for treatment of olfactory hallucianation. This is a report of a three and a half-year-old boy with idiopathic generalized tonic colonic epilepsy. He had lost his ability to detect and recognize taste and odor during treatment with topiramate. Those abilities improved after discontinuation of topiramate.
