Abstract

The metallographic preparation and examination of Alloy 718 greatly influence the results of structural studies. Consistent, careful metallographic preparation, using proven polishes and etchants, yields repeatable and informative results.

John F. Radavich received his Ph.D. in metallurgical engineering from Purdue University in 1953. He is currently an associate professor in the School of Materials Engineering at Purdue University. Dr. Radavich is also a member of TMS.
