Abstract
A phenomenological model for lattice dynamics of b.c.c. metals is proposed by combining central ion-ion interaction on BVK scheme, angular ion-ion interaction onClark-Gazis-Wallis scheme and electron-ion interaction onKrebs’s scheme with an essential modification of the dielectric screening function. Calculated phonon dispersion curves of sodium along all the five principal symmetry directions as well as (Θ−T) curve of it show a good agreement with the experimental findings.
