Samenvatting

In dit proefschrift onderzocht Greving waarom AII-receptorantagonisten tussen 1995, het jaar van hun introductie, en 2000 zo’n snel de markt hebben veroverd. Is het de invloed van advertenties en andere marketingactiviteiten van de farmaceutische industrie? Waarom zijn gezaghebbende landelijke richtlijnen en andere professionele informatiebronnen dan kennelijk niet in staat om tegenwicht te bieden? De door Greving gekozen AII-receptorantagonisten staan model voor veel nieuwe geneesmiddelen die ‘in de markt gezet worden’ en daarom is dit een zeer relevant proefschrift.
