Abstract

Outpatient long-term psychotherapy for personality disorders

Outpatient psychotherapy for patients suffering from mental disorders is frequently studied in clinical trials. In this paper we summarise the results of our review on the effectiveness of long-term psychotherapy in personality disorders. We present current developments in clinical research on this topic, focusing on questions raised by earlier research. Finally, we shortly discuss the implications for practising evidence based medicine.
