The isolated haemoperfused canine pancreas: An experimental model

  • Published:
Irish Journal of Medical Science Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

This report records the development and application of a model for the total isolation and perfusion of the canine pancreas. The surgical technique and the perfusion system used in 120 isolated perfusions are described. The history of pancreatic perfusion is reviewed. The studies carried out with this model are discussed and its patential and further applications are considered.
