Zusammenfassung

Zwei Oberkiefer-Bezahnungen von Pantotheria (Mammalia) aus dem Kimmeridge der Kohlengrube Guimarota bei Leiria, Portugal, können als juveniles und adultes Gebiß derselben Dryolestiden-Art gedeutet werden. Sie zeigen, daß die Pantotheria (unter denen die Ahnen der modernen Säugetiere zu suchen sind) bereits im Oberen Jura den Zahnwechselmodus der primitiven Eutheria (Placentalsäuger) aufweisen. Der Zahnersatz der Marsupialier (Beuteltiere) scheint demnadi abgewandelt zu sein.
