Fruwirth rightly calls the mode of inheritance like that here stated, which is not at all inheritance in the proper sense of the word, by the German nameUebertragung, which corresponds perhaps to the English wordTransmission. He says (Handbuch der landwirtschaftlichen Pflanzenziichtung, Bd. i.Allgemeine Züchtungslchre, 4.
