Levels in normal, Pathological, and foetal sera of the three transcobalamins

Irish Journal of Medical Science Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

It has been demonstrated that TCIII is present in pernicious anaemia (PA) multiple myeloma, chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML), polycythaemia vera (PV) and myelosclerosis. The levels of Transcobalmin I (TCI) and Trans-cobalamin III (TCIII) were increased in all disorders, except PA, in comparison with normal control sera. In CML both TCI and TCIII were greatly elevated, the former being elevated to a larger extent than the latter. The occurrence of TCIII in cord blood was also demonstrated.
