Summary
Insulin binding IgM antibody has been demonstrated to parallel the manifestation of acute local reactions to insulin. Evidence has also been presented indicating that IgM insulin binding antibody is present in the majority of insulin treated diabetic patients, although the titre must be very low. The significance of these findings has been briefly discussed.
