Conclusion
The effect of biotin at 50 mg/L on the production of succinic acid byA. succiniciproducens has been studied. Biotin improved glucose consumption, cell growth, and succinic acid production. The specific productivity of succinic acid was improved by 16%. Biotin also increased the production of the byproduct acetic acid. The molar ratio of succinate:acetate was not changed by biotin.
