Medical management of the male factor in infertility

Summary

A Simple scheme for investigation of the male partner is discussed in terms of history, physical examination and specific diagnostic tests. A review of the treatment of oligospermia is presented in 2 sections: drug therapy and physical methods for improving the quality of semen in preparation for artificial insemination. These include column extraction and split ejaculation. The place of artificial insemination, both homologous and donor, in conjuction with sperm banking is also discussed.
