Conclusion

The incidence of HCM is estimated at 0.2%, while Marfan syndrome occurs much less frequently. How is the physician to find the rare disease that can kill a patient in his adolescence? As in the case of other uncommon diseases, clinical suspicion and careful history and physical examination are of primary importance.
