G Nagendrappa teaches organic chemistry at Bangalore University. His work includes organic synthesis and reaction mechanisms mainly in the area of organosilicon chemistry. His previous employment at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, and a background of village life in his early boyhood days have interested him in the utilization of biomass.
