Summary

The effects on energy- and momentum-transfer dependence of cross-sections, caused by the variation ofΔ 2min with incident momentum and external masses, are investigated using a simple model for the differential cross-section. It is found that at intermediate momenta, ∼(3÷6) GeV/c the incident momentum dependence of the total cross-section for\(\pi p \to \rho \mathcal{N}*\) differs appreciably from that of the differential cross-section. The consequences for theΔ 2 distributions of a zero nearΔ 2=0 are examined, and it is found that plotting inΔ 2-Δ 2min should be used to resolve this question.

Si studiano gli effetti della dipendenza dal transferimento di energia e quantità di moto delle sezioni d'urto determinati dalla variazione diΔ 2min con la quantità di moto incidente e le masse esterne, usando un semplice modello per la sezione d'urto differenziale. Si trova che per quantità di moto intermedie, ∼(3÷6) GeV/c, la dipendenza dalla quantità di moto incidente della sezione d'urto totale per\(\pi p \to \rho \mathcal{N}*\) differisce apprezzabilmente da quella della sezione d'urto differenziale. Обуаружено, что при промежуточном импульсе ∼(3÷6) ГэВ/с зависимость поперечного сечения от начального импуяьса для\(\pi p \to \rho \mathcal{N}*\) заметно отличается от зависимости дифференциального поперечного сечения. Изучаются последствия дляΔ 2 распределений нуля вблизиΔ 2=0, и найдено, что построение кривойΔ 2-Δ 2min должно быть использовано для разрешения этого вопроса.
