The formation of32P from atmospheric argon by cosmic rays

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento (1955-1965)

Summary

It is shown by experiments that radioactive32P is formed as a spallation product of argon by cosmic rays. This32P is found in the rain water, and its average activity in fresh rain water of Rio de Janeiro is 0.20 dpm/liter.
