Summary
Keswick seed potatoes were dipped in GA solutions at concentrations of 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 ppm and planted at spacings of 6, 9 and 12 in. in the row. Three year results indicated that GA treatments had no effect on yields, but significantly reduced mean tuber size by increasing the numbers of stems and tubers. Closer seed spacing significantly reduced mean tuber size, while total tuber yields and the numbers of stems and tubers were increased. The interaction GA x seed spacing had no significant effect on any of the characteristics determined.
