Selection rules and ratios for axial couplings

Summary

We study the predictions for the axial couplings following from the use of the mixing operatorU(Z), previously introduced to tilt the axial charges ofSU 6 in the physical ones. The quantum number (−1)L+L 3, whereL andL 3 are theO 3 angular momentum and its third component, is shown to be conserved. From the properties ofZ further predictions can be achieved as theD/F=3/2 for the 1/2+ baryon octet in general agreement with experiment.
