Summary
Most of the proposed supersymmetric low-energy models contain at least one accidental axial symmetry which at first sight could solve the strong CP problem. Unfortunately, experimental, astrophysical and cosmological constraints on the one side and asymptotic freedom on the other are never simultaneously respected. We propose to consider the supersymmetric realization of the Kim, Shifman, Vainshtein and Zakharov mechanism as a new guide for model building.
