A test of the ΔSQ selection rule in K 0e3 decay

Il Nuovo Cimento A (1965-1970)

Summary

An optical spark chamber experiment has been performed to test the validity of the ΔSQ weak-interaction selection rule for the decay\(K^0 (\bar K^0 ) \to \pi ^ \pm e^ \pm \nu \). Analysis of the time distribution of 342 decays has given the complex ratiox of the ΔS=−ΔQ to ΔSQ amplitudes to be Rex=−0.13±0.11 and Imx=−0.04±0.16 which is consistent with no violation of the ΔSQ rule.
