Summary
The field operatorsϕ(x, s) havingc-number commutators, are investigated. If we choose the spectral functionϱ(s, s′; ϰ2) =K(s; ϰ2)K(s′;ϰ2)the operatorsϕ(x, s) characterize decoupled two-particleS-wave subsystems, and particularly can be used for the description of space-time development of the elasticS-wave resonant scattering. The relation between the definition of elastic resonance in our field-theoretical model, and the conventional definition, using 2→2 scattering amplitude, is explained. The explicit formulae for the asymptotic fieldsϕ in,ϕ out are given, and theS-wave scattering phase shift is expressed in terms of the spectral functionϱ(s, s′; ϰ2) defining the commutation relations of theϕ-field. In order to describe the most general class of free fieldsϕ(x, s) havingc-number commutators, it is necessary to introduce the notion of generalized Licht fields. Also the infinite-component field operator, describing full 2→2 elastic-scattering process, is introduced. In Appendix A, for the sake of completeness, the proof of asymptotic condition, which was only assumed to be valid in I, is presented.
