Sclerema neonatorum

Summary

  1. 1.

    Seventeen cases of sclerema neonatorum were observed during a period of 3 years and 9 months. Of these 17, sixteen were premature by weight.

  2. 2.

    Septicaemia was present in six, respiratory infection in four, and previous operative interference in two.

  3. 3.

    Only three cases survived; another patient survived the first attack but succumbed to the second.
