Do magnetic monopoles violate parity?

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento (1955-1965)

Summary

A logical analysis is undertaken, on the meaning of the statement of parity conservation for magnetic monopoles and a comparison is made with similar classical situations. A twofold meaning of parity arises from the discussion, and a group-theoretical method is employed in order to define a « weak » and a « strong » parity. Such a distinction applies to more general invariances.
