The mass composition of the primary cosmic rays in the Low-TeV range derived from ground-level muon measurements

  • Published:
Lettere al Nuovo Cimento (1971-1985)

Summary

With a magnetic spectrometer the charge ratio of muons was measured at sea-level up to an energy of 7 TeV. Using these data the primary mass composition,i.e. the ratio of neutrons of the primary mixture of nuclei could be determined up to about 50 TeV. The results are in agreement with the mass composition at lower energies.
