Methodische Überlegungen für eine Biotopkartierung im Wald

Zusammenfassung

Am Beispiel einer Probekartierung im Staatswald des Forstamtes Seeshaupt wird ein Verfahren zur Aufnahme und Bewertung von Biotopen im Wald erläutert. Es wird dabei zunächst von einer flächendeckenden Aufnahme ausgegangen, bei der für jeden Bestand (als unterste Erfassungseinheit) ein ökologischer Gesamtwert ermittelt wird, der sich aus einer ökologischen Einschätzung des Bestandes selbst, aus der Erfassung sogenannter Kleinstrukturen und aus der Beurteilung der Fauna zusammensetzt.

Grundlage dieser ökologischen Einschätzung sind die Indikatoren Naturnähe, Seltenheit und Strukturvielfalt.

Bei Testkartierungen auf 13 000 ha wurde die Praktikabilität der Methode geprüft. Es hat sich dabei gezeigt, daß eine solche Erhebung im Zusammenhang mit der Forsteinrichtung besonders effektiv ist.

Anhand weiterer Fallstudien soll untersucht werden, inwieweit bei schwächerer Datenbasis (z. B. im Kleinprivatwald) Vereinfachungen notwendig und möglich sind.

Summary

Sample mapping on state forest land of the Seeshaupt forest district is used to illustrate a method for inventorying and evaluating habitats on forest land. First of all, an inventory covering the entire area is considered. For each individual stand, as the basic unit, its total ecological value is determined; such is derived from an ecological assessment of the stand itself, census of so-called mini-structures, and evaluation of the fauna.

Basis for this ecological evaluation are the following criteria: proximity to natural conditions, rarity, and diversity.

The practicability of the method was tested by sample mapping on 13 000 hectares. It became evident that such an inventory is especially effective when connected with the periodic forest survey and management planning.

Further investigations shall show to what extent simplifications may be necessary and possible if the data basis is smaller, e. g. for small private forests.
